How is PVC produced?
PVC, like polyethylene and polypropylene, is one of the most widely used polymers. This material can be easily combined with additives and softeners and structures with different characteristics can be produced from it; Including soft and flexible films to hard parts.

PVC has a reasonable price and high processability, so its use is increasing. PVC can be produced by extrusion methods (for the production of pipes, cables, profiles, granulation, etc.), rotary coating (ball production), immersion (glove production) and usual injection-pressure methods (for the production of technical and complex) produced.

Introduction of PVC additives
PVC has low thermal stability and is also a hard polymer, for its processing and also to modify the properties of the final product, it is necessary to use additives in the formulation of PVC.

The combination of PVC with additives is called compound and the process of its preparation is called compounding.

Note: PVC compounding is done in two ways: compounding-melt and solid compounding. In compound-solid, the materials are mixed together in a suitable mixer, which is in the form of a liquid mixture (in PVC paste-solvent and latex) or in the form of a solid mixture, in which case it is also called dry blend, which is in the form of a mixture It turns out uniform and so-called free-flowing.

In compounding, the molten PVC and additive after mixing by different equipment (usually PVC double extruder) are granulated and used for processing in the next step. In fact, PVC granule is also an intermediate product like PVC compound.

The compound produced in the next step enters the main process (extrusion-injection-calendering-blow extrusion, etc.) and finally the final product is made from it.

Features of this oil
DOP oil has various features that make it welcome by producers and expand its uses. Among its features are:

Insolubility in water:
One of the characteristics of DOP oil is that it does not dissolve in water. Depending on the application of the granule produced with this oil, this property can be both good and bad. But the fact that this oil does not pollute the water chemically and does not cause poisoning is considered an advantage. Apart from that, due to the large use of this oil to produce granules used in hose and cable making, not dissolving in water is both an advantage and a necessity.

light color:
Another advantage of dop oil is its bright color. The bright color makes the texture of the granule soft and flexible and gives it a suitable formability, without changing the color of the product. Many additives used in the granule industry have color and this will have a negative effect on the final colorability of the produced product.

Odorless:
One of the problems in the granule industry and petrochemical industry in general is the unpleasant smell of the additives and materials used. Fortunately, this oil has no smell and therefore there is no restriction in its use.

Dissolving in mineral oils:
dop oil dissolves in mineral oils. Considering the use of various types of these oils in the granule production process, the possibility of dissolving DOP oil is an advantage; Because it is difficult to combine with other oils
